The South Philippines Dwarf Kingfisher is a small bird species that until recently had remained largely hidden from sight.
It had not been seen for around 130 years before an avid bird-watching eye surgeon managed to capture some great shots of this elusive subject.
Its conservation status is currently listed as Vulnerable.
