After a bit of a break from creative work, I sat down, put on a Netflix show, prepared my canvas, set up my references, and got down to work on a new painting. This is the first of two landscapes I worked on in one day.
It was inspired by a landscape shot from The Last Kingdom, which I believe is filmed in Budapest. It’s possible these rolling hills are indeed in Budapest but I don’t know.
I was mainly concentrating on getting a subtle watercolour look but my lack of experience and perhaps inferior paints led to a much more saturated look than I was after. But it turned out ok in the end, and I’m sure that with more practice I’ll get it right.
Feel free to leave some feedback, or tell just me to give up already.
